How a Duel Tetris match works
Both players play at the same time on their own boards. Clearing lines does more than keep you alive: it sends garbage rows to your opponent, pushing their stack up from the bottom. Clearing four lines at once, a Tetris, sends four rows.
Pressure builds quickly. The player whose stack reaches the ceiling first loses, and the winner takes both stakes with no rake.
Duel Tetris rules
- Simultaneous play. Both boards run in real time; there are no turns.
- Attack with line clears. Clearing lines sends garbage rows to the other board, and a four-line Tetris sends four.
- Topping out loses. The first player whose blocks reach the top of the board loses the match.
Tips to win Tetris battles
- Keep your stack low and flat. A flat surface gives every piece a good spot and leaves you room to absorb incoming garbage.
- Keep one column open for I-pieces. A clean well lets you score Tetrises, the strongest attack in the game.
- Do not over-build. Waiting too long for a Tetris while garbage is coming in is the fastest way to lose.
- Dig out when you need to. Clearing incoming garbage keeps you alive long enough to counter-attack.
- Speed comes from placement, not panic. Practice in solo mode until you place pieces without hesitating.
Is Duel Tetris worth playing for money?
Tetris is one of the most skill-heavy games in the Arena: experienced versus players win almost every match against casual players. If you only know single-player Tetris, spend time in practice mode and test yourself at small stakes before playing for more.
Pros and cons of playing Tetris on Duel
